From day one he has been proving the world wrong. As a kid Jig was in love with music and sports. He was able to mimic any drum beat on the wall and recite any rap song he heard within minutes of hearing them. That skill was his outlet and a way to erase the pain and disparity that was surrounding him.

His upbringing was that of your statistical kid from New York. He was raised in a drug infested household until age 11. This is when his Aunt Brenda Sanders decided to take him and his brother and 3 sisters from a bad situation and raise them herself. That day was the turning point in his life. Due to his Aunts willingness to provide for him, he has credited her for saving his life. From the age of 11, until his Senior Year in High School, he lived with his aunt. During this time his love for music enhanced. He started from writing poems about his personal experiences to writing Raps. He wrote everything from gospel raps to gangster raps. Even though he was a writer he felt the best way to put his feelings out were to say how he feel at the time, better known as Free styling. He was known in his neighborhood as the freestyle king. His skills were increased by battling his friends. Two friends unparticular were Reese Deluxe and Raycell. They would freestyle for hours about anything. During this time he also became one of the best basketball players in the city. From his high school years until his College years he decided to peruse a Basketball Career. With a dream of becoming an NBA star he decided to put Rapping on the backburner. He was offered many Athletic Scholarships to go to colleges across the US but decided to stay local to look after his Siblings. At the age of 18 he was given guardianship of his brother and three sisters due to his mother’s drug addiction. This is the time he felt he would only become a statistic of the city. Due to his added responsibility he had to limit his basketball playing and provide for his family. This is the time when music became most important. For extra money he would throw House Parties and charge $1. During these parties he would challenge people to battle him. It was said that he never lost a battle. Even though he was known around the city he felt he needed to leave the city to be successful. At age 20 he joined the US Army in which he's currently serving in today. Music was his way of coping with being home sick and missing his family. He reverted back to writing poems. He would write poems for his friends to send home to their love ones. During his initial entry into the Army he would challenge everyone to freestyle battles. Many tried to take the title but all have failed. In 2002 he was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington, which is located about 45 minutes from Seattle, WA. In 2004 he was deployed to Iraq. This was the time he realized he had the skills to "Rock a Party" Anywhere. During the end of his deployment, while in Kuwait, he won 2nd place in a talent show which featured over 200 participants. From that point on he was encouraged to pursue a music career. In 2005 he met Montez "Bigg Tezz" Smith who was an aspiring producer from Augusta, GA. Together they put together his fist studio recorded mixtape, "Hustlas Ethos". Right after its release he was deployed to Iraq for the 2nd time. During his 2nd tour in Iraq he decided to learn the business side of the music. For his year he studied recording and found a new found love for music.
